Bristol City v Preston preview

Bristol City will be without Simon Gillett when they host Preston.

The midfielder picked up his 10th yellow card of the season in the 2-1 defeat at Rotherham on Saturday, their first loss in seven, which means the Nottingham Forest loanee will sit out their next two matches.

Marlon Pack, who scored in the Under-21’s 3-0 victory over Ipswich earlier this week, looks set to compete with Stephen Pearson to take Gillett’s place in the Robins side.

Cardiff loanee Simon Moore is back in training after a month out with a groin problem and could make the matchday squad against North End.

Right-back Scott Wiseman is Preston’s only injury doubt for their match against Bristol City at Ashton Gate.

The ex-Barnsley defender missed the 1-0 win over Crawley because of a knee problem and North End fear the trip to Bristol may come around too soon.

After back-to-back victories, boss Simon Grayson is likely to stick with the front pairing of top scorer Joe Garner and Stuart Beavon meaning loanee Craig Davies will again have to make do with a place on the bench.

Central defender Bailey Wright and wide man Chris Humphrey will be hoping for recalls after they started on the bench against Crawley.
