Jensen awaiting injury update

The 39-year-old Dane was forced to leave the field before half-time after a collision with Samir Carruthers and is set to have a further scan on the injury later this week.

“When we collided he hit my face and I could feel a scratch on my left cheek,” Jensen told the club website. “That was what I was worried about at first but when I looked down at my right glove I could see that the bone had pushed out at the base of my thumb where it joins the hand.

“The team doctor Jerry Hill tried to put the thumb back in three times on the pitch, which was why I was kicking my legs on the ground – it was quite painful!”

As there was no substitute keeper on the bench, striker Matt Harrold was forced into action as an emergency shot-stopper, with Jensen offering advice from the stand behind the goal.

“Hopefully on Thursday and Friday I can do some work with the keeper the gaffer is going to bring in and I will be at Rochdale on Saturday whatever happens – I might even stand with the fans again!” joked Jensen.
