Walsall v Gillingham preview

Strikers Milan Lalkovic and Craig Westcarr will both be available for Walsall when Gillingham visit the Banks’s Stadium.

Lalkovic has missed the last two matches with a hamstring problem, while leading goalscorer Westcarr has been absent for three games due to suspension.

Both players will be pushing for an immediate return to the Saddlers’ starting line up on Monday when manager Dean Smith could hand teenager Amadou Bakayoko his full debut with only a top-10 finish left to fight for this season.

Walsall are 10 points adrift of the play-off places with just three games remaining.

Gillingham have no new problems ahead of their trip to Walsall.

Boss Peter Taylor made three changes to the side that lost 5-1 to Leyton Orient against Tranmere on Friday with Craig Fagan, Amine Linganzi and Michael Harriman all being dropped to the bench in favour of Steven Gregory, Bayo Akinfenwa and fit-again Leon Legge.

Taylor may opt to make a few more changes on Monday for what will be a second game in the space of three days. Striker Danny Kedwell (knee) and midfielder Chris Whelpdale (ankle) returned to the bench against Rovers, with Kedwell coming on as a second-half substitute.

Other options for Taylor include Amine Linganzi, Bradley Dack, Michael Harriman, Craig Fagan and Sam Baxter.
