Chambers: Walsall must move on

The Saddlers lost 2-0 to Bristol City at Wembley on Sunday as their first-ever trip to the stadium ended in disappointment.

Aden Flint and Mark Little scored in each half to give the Robins a comfortable win as the Saddlers struggled to make an impact.

They are four points above the relegation zone in League One with nine games left and Chambers insisted they must move on quickly.

“We’ll dust ourselves down and get back to action and make sure there’s no hangover from this,” the midfielder said.

“We don’t feel we did ourselves justice. There are a lot of young lads who have careers ahead of them and hopefully they will use it as motivation to get back into these sorts of areas and play in front of 70,000 fans.

“We waited a long time for it and the fact the performance was below our normal standards is disappointing.

“We’ll do debriefs on the game but it just wasn’t to be. It’s different to what the players are used to, it’s one of those things.

“I hope we’ll come out of it stronger and use it as motivation for the rest of the season and next as well”
