Matt Harrold has been relishing the chance to learn from manager Mark McGhee at Bristol Rovers.

The striker, who has netted 16 times for the League Two club this season, has enjoyed the most prolific term of his professional career.

And although 11 of his goals came under former boss Paul Buckle, who was dismissed in January after a run of poor form, Harrold revealed both he and his team-mates have benefited from the arrival of former Millwall and Wolves manager McGhee at the Memorial Stadium.

"All managers have their own different styles but I think we've definitely been playing the ball out from the back a lot more under him," he said.

"It's taken some time for us to adapt but I think we're seeing the benefits now and we're getting the results we should have been getting at the start of the season.

"Personally, I'm learning a lot as a striker from him because obviously he was a striker and he played to a high level. So it's good for me and I have been learning from him."
