Mat-Mitchell King is hoping strong performances in the second half of the season will earn him a new deal at AFC Wimbledon.
The defender has only missed one game in 25 since making his debut against Rotherham but is taking nothing for granted with Dons boss Terry Brown set to name his retained list.
"When I came back I was fighting for my future here. Of course, I feel part of the team now and in the past few games I have done all right. I have been getting back to my best," King told the club's official website.
"I also feel sharper and hopefully that has been coming across in my performances.
"Terry has a big decision to make and there are a few of us who are looking at next season. I have not had any inclination whether it is a 'yes' or a 'no' for me.
"I am happy here and I have moved back to London, but I do not want to set myself up for a fall."
