Southend are interested in signing trialist Stephen Brogan ahead of the upcoming season, manager Paul Sturrock has confirmed.
The winger has played in the Shrimpers' last four pre-season friendlies as he looks to secure a permanent deal at Roots Hall.
Sturrock told Echo News: "We're certainly interested in signing Stephen and will now have talks with him and his representative to see what kind of figures are being mentioned.
"He's done well in the games he's played for us. Now it's just a case of trying to sort things out."
Brogan has showed similar interest in staying at Southend.
He added: "I've spoken to the manager and he seems interested so fingers crossed everything can be sorted and I can become a Southend United player and do well for the club this season."
