Fleetwood boss Micky Mellon insisted he should take full responsibility for his side's 3-1 defeat at the hands of Accrington on Tuesday.
Town found themselves two goals down within 17 minutes after a penalty from Jamie Beattie and then George Miller's close-range finish.
Romuald Boco put the visitors 3-0 up and although Jamie McGuire pulled one back for the Cod Army there was little sign of a miraculous recovery and Mellon was clear where the blame should lie.
Mellon said: "I'm shocked. But I'm the manager and I've got to take responsibility because my players couldn't pass the football, as a manager it's my job to make them do that.
"Their movement was poor and, again, as the manager, I've got to train them to do that.
"Defensively we were all over the place. As a manager, I'm supposed to coach them their defensive duties. But obviously I haven't done that because they haven't done any of those things properly."
