Wycombe v Bury preview

Wycombe look set to be unchanged as they welcome managerless Bury to Adams Park.

The Chairboys were drawing 1-1 with Portsmouth when their League Two meeting was postponed on Tuesday night due to flooding and Gareth Ainsworth looks set to name the same side that played for just 45 minutes at Fratton Park.

New signing Sebastian Cann-Svard, who joined on a one-month deal on Thursday, is not 100 per cent match fit so the 30-year-old may have to wait for his Blues bow.

Leon Johnson will not be available again with a hip injury but striker Steven Craig (virus) could feature after returning to training while Dean Morgan (thigh) will hope he is passed fit to be involved.

Bury caretaker boss Ronnie Jepson will assess Tommy Miller ahead of the trip to Wycombe.

The midfielder suffered heavy bruising to his shoulder during Tuesday’s goalless draw with Mansfield and missed training during the week but Jepson will leave it to the last minute before making a decision.

Midfielder Craig Jones and forward Marlon Jackson have both been passed fit following respective groin and hamstring injuries while striker Tope Obadeyi will have a groin complaint checked before the game.

But striker Jessy Reindorf is still on the comeback trail after a hernia operation while midfielder Marco Navas is sidelined for three weeks with a hamstring problem.

Wycombe manager Gary Waddock will be back to full strength.

The Chairboys have not played since beating Chelmsford in the FA Cup at the end of November but will be in action this weekend thanks to undersoil heating at Adams Park.

Keiran Murtagh, Marvin McCoy and Josh Parker all missed the Chelmsford win as they were on international duty with Antigua and Barbuda for CONCACAF Gold Cup qualifiers but all three will be back in the squad.

Waddock is not expected to make any changes to his starting XI with on-loan Dagenham & Redbridge midfielder Stuart Lewis impressing and Scott Rendell continuing his good form in attack.

Jon-Paul Pittman is the only long-term injury worry as he recovers from a knee injury as the Shakers look for a club record seventh away win on the spin.

Bury boss Alan Knill is boosted by the return of skipper Steven Schumacher.

Schumacher has had time to recover from an ankle knock and he will return to the squad against the Chairboys, as will fellow midfielder Damien Mozika who has now served a one-match suspension.

Striker Andy Bishop remains sidelined through injury but could return to action next month.

The Shakers’ clash at Wycombe is likely to beat the weather courtesy of the undersoil heating at Adams Park.

And Knill said: “We know it is going to be a very tough game but it is a good chance for us to get some points on the board. We are going there full of confidence.”
