Stevenage v Morecambe preview

Stevenage boss Graham Westley could hand new loan signing Luke Daley his debut against Morecambe.

Striker or winger Daley has joined Boro on loan until February 22 and is in contention to start after Tim Sills left the club earlier this week by mutual consent.

Jay O’Shea’s two-month loan deal with the club expired during the week and the winger briefly returned to parent club Birmingham before being shipped back out on loan to Port Vale.

Meanwhile, midfield duo Joel Byrom and Darren Murphy are still struggling with ankle and foot injuries respectively and are not expected to feature as the club attempt to return to winning ways following last week’s 1-0 defeat at Chesterfield.

Morecambe will be without Mark Duffy after the winger joined Scunthorpe for an undisclosed fee.

However, defender Tony Capaldi has verbally agreed a deal to keep him at Morecambe until the end of the season.

The left-back’s short-term deal ended on Monday but he has been offered another contract until the end of the campaign after some recent impressive performances.

The Shrimps were hopeful the deal would be sealed in time for him to face Boro, but striker James Spencer remains suspended and defender Paul Scott is still sidelined after a knee operation.
