Robbie Threlfall serves the second game of his three-match ban as Morecambe bid to record a fifth straight Sky Bet League Two victory at home to Dagenham.

Defender Threlfall was given his marching orders when the Shrimps beat Southend and therefore sat out last weekend’s 3-2 win at Newport, a contest in which Jim Bentley’s men enjoyed a good deal of fortune thanks to Tom Naylor’s two own-goals.

Bentley was missing Andy Fleming in south Wales after the midfielder dropped a glass on his foot and he is again doubtful, as is winger Marcus Marshall who continues to be hampered by a hamstring problem.

Experienced defender Chris McCready recently broke his collarbone and striker Jack Redshaw is recovering from hip surgery.

Josh Scott returns for Dagenham’s trip to Morecambe but boss Wayne Burnett must decide whether to change a winning team.

The striker missed last weekend’s 2-0 victory over Bristol Rovers with a knock yet, with it being the Daggers’ first league win in five attempts, Burnett will be tempted to stick with replacement Afolabi Obafemi.

Otherwise, Dagenham have no injury or suspension problems as they aim to record back-to-back league wins for the first time since December last year.

The Daggers have faced Morecambe 30 times in competitive matches since they were formed in 1992, more than any other opposition.

Sean McGinty is set to make his Morecambe debut when Jim Bentley’s side host Dagenham.

McGinty joined the Shrimps on loan from Manchester United on Monday and the 18-year-old could be thrust straight into the starting line-up with two of Bentley’s first choice defenders facing late fitness tests.

Nick Fenton and Laurence Wilson were both substituted after sustaining knocks in the 1-0 win over Southend on Saturday and McGinty could deputise in either of their respective centre-half and left-back positions.

Midfielder Andy Fleming, recently back from an ankle injury, also departed during the second half and will be assessed before kick-off.

Bentley’s men are chasing a third consecutive home win after Jordan Burrow’s winner at the weekend gave them back-to-back triumphs at the Globe Arena for the first time this season.

Meanwhile, Dagenham and Redbridge will be looking to build on their point away to Plymouth at the weekend as they travel again to Morecambe.

Loan signings Ben Reeves and Jonathan Bond both impressed on their debuts at Home Park and the duo look likely to start again.

Bond replaced the suspended Chris Lewington in goal but the trip to Morecambe is the final game of the ban.

The weekend’s clash was deemed too soon for Luke Howell to make his return to the side, but with two days extra rest, he may well be brought back into the squad.

Peter Gain (knee), Kevin Maher (foot) and Sam Williams (knee) remain sidelined.
