Jed Wallace and Ryan Taylor are Portsmouth’s latest casualties ahead of the home game against Bury.

Midfielder Wallace missed the midweek trip to Stevenage due to a hamstring problem and striker Taylor went off with a groin injury during the 1-0 defeat.

On-loan Fulham defender Josh Passley will also miss out having yet to get the all-clear after he was concussed against Morecambe at the weekend.

They join Ben Chorley (back), Jack Whatmough (knee), Paul Robinson (cheekbone) and Danny East (hamstring) on the sidelines.

Bury expect to be at full strength as they aim to keep up the pressure on the three clubs above them in automatic promotion berths.

Stirker Tom Eaves sustained a nasty head injury after coming on in the 1-0 win over Shrewsbury but should be fine if boss David Flitcroft elects to use the Bolton loanee again.

Midfielder Nicky Adams was a surprising tactical omission from the squad entirely and could come back into the picture against a side far lower down the table than the Shrews.

Full-back Joe Riley is likely to retain his spot in the team having scored a brilliant winner on Tuesday night on his return from a three-match suspension.

Portsmouth will again be without David Connelly when Bury visit Fratton Park.

Connolly has yet to recover from the calf strain he suffered last month and joins fellow striker Tom Craddock (knee) and full-back Marcos Painter (calf) on the sidelines.

Goalkeeper Trevor Carson will also miss out as he is on loan from the Shakers, meaning a recall for either John Sullivan or Phil Smith.

But defender Danny East and midfielder Simon Ferry are close to recovering from hamstring injuries and could be involved, while striker John Marquis plays the final game of his loan spell from Millwall.

On-loan striker Danny Hylton could be in line for his debut as managerless Shakers start life without Kevin Blackwell.

The Shakers axed Blackwell on Monday morning after a run of seven games without a victory and, just 24 hours later, Hylton was brought in to Gigg Lane on a deal from Rotherham.

Ronnie Jepson will take charge on the south coast but he will be without midfielder Marco Navas, who will not travel due to a hamstring injury.

Jepson will run the rule over Craig Jones (groin) before determining if he can feature but striker Tope Obadeyi (groin) will return to contention.

Portsmouth will check on David Connolly ahead of the Shakers’ visit.

The veteran striker hopes to be fit despite coming off with a thigh knock at Crewe last weekend.

Guy Whittingham’s squad has been depleted again after on-loan midfielder Adam Reed went back to Sunderland and forward James Keene returned to Swedish parent club Elfsborg.

Striker Patrick Agyemang is due back at Stevenage but Pompey are hoping to extend his loan spell.

Agyemang scored his first goal for the club against Alex as Whittingham’s side secured a 2-1 win – their first victory in 24 matches.

Academy winger Jack Maloney has been added to the squad but defender Sam Sodje misses out again as he completes a three-match ban.

Bury begin a critical week in their quest for league survival without the services of Tom Soares and Stephane Zubar.

Soares suffered a hamstring injury during last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Crawley and bleeding from the muscle left the midfielder with a haematoma that means around a six-week absence.

Zubar’s loan spell from Bournemouth has come to an end after a visit to a specialist this week confirmed cruciate knee ligament damage for the defender and a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The injuries could bring non-contract signings Euan Holden and Valery Mezague into contention, although the latter is completing rehabilitation from a hamstring injury of his own, and on-loan Peterborough striker Johnson Clarke-Harris may earn a place in the squad after scoring for the Shakers’ reserves in midweek.

Defenders Phil Picken (knee) and Adam Lockwood (groin) remain on the sidelines along with midfielder Shane Byrne (blood disorder).
