Leeds manager Simon Grayson is ready to bury the hatchet with Andy O'Brien following the Leeds defender's treatment for depression.

Grayson declared O'Brien, 32, had no future at the club after the defender refused to play in Leeds' 2-1 win at Burnley in November, but the club released a statement on Tuesday announcing the former Newcastle and Bolton centre-half would be returning to training following treatment at the Sporting Chance Clinic.

"It's been a real delicate situation and it's something we've not been able to comment on for a few months now," said Grayson.

"Obviously the club statement has dealt with the procedures of it all and he'll be back in training probably on Thursday. I'm not sure how fit he's going to be.

"But if we've got an Andy O'Brien to the level of performance when he first came to the club, and certainly the performance against Leicester before he had these problems, then I've got a good, experienced player. We need that experience back in the team as quickly as possible.

"He's not been training with us. I've been unable to have any contact with him over the last few weeks, but I'll speak to him (on Wednesday) and we'll have to take it from there."
