Rochdale v Leyton Orient preview

Rochdale are expected be without suspended pair Jamie Jones and Matty Lund for the home game against Leyton Orient.

Dale boss Keith Hill was undecided over whether to appeal against the red card received by goalkeeper Jones and midfielder Lund’s dismissal in Saturday’s defeat at Gillingham, but hinted at “taking it on the chin”.

If the club do not appeal Josh Lillis is likely to return to the starting line-up in place of Jones, who will serve a one-game ban, while Joel Logan, Callum Camps and Rhys Bennett will be in contention to fill the gap left by Lund, suspended for three matches.

Defenders Ollie Lancashire (ankle) and Scott Tanser (calf) are both hoping to feature after shaking off injury as Dale bid to close the gap on sixth-placed Chesterfield to five points with two games to go.

Leyton Orient will again run the rule over Dean Cox and Darius Henderson prior to the trip.

O’s winger Cox has missed the past three fixtures with a groin problem and his team-mates have picked up just one point from nine in his absence.

Striker Henderson did not feature when Orient were thrashed 6-1 at MK Dons, with his replacement, Jay Simpson, scoring in his first start under Fabio Liverani.

The Italian manager, who remains without goalkeeper Adam Legzdins (shoulder) and midfielder Romain Vincelot (knee), said he would assess the pair on Sunday and Monday ahead of heading to Spotland.
