Number seven, I agree Mourinho fits the bill. He’s like the top table version of an Allarydce – he’ll do the job you want & you’ll swallow the type of football and antics that go with it. It does just demonstrate though that “doing things the right way” and following the “club philosophy” will ultimately play second fiddle to who the best manager available is at the time. It’s like a PR situation when a club says it’s going back to it’s roots. When Liverpool appointed Rodgers some said it was about the club going back to it’s philosophy, yet they were more than happy to play successful defensive football with Houllier years ago. When Man Utd appointed Moyes it was like the club were also trying to convince themselves that Moyes was the best man for the job, hence the six year contract. But it just delayed the inevitable.
