Doncaster v Crawley preview

Doncaster boss Dean Saunders will have an unchanged squad for the Red Devils visit.

Saunders named an unchanged starting line-up against Bury in midweek and the former Wales international striker saw all of his players come through the 2-1 home victory unscathed.

Saunders was still unable to fill the bench on Tuesday night, with goalkeeper Neil Sullivan, defender James Husband, midfielders James Harper and James Coppinger and striker Robbie Blake starting as substitutes.

They are all ready to come into the team should Saunders, who is still trying to persuade the club’s board of directors to allow him to sign more players, wish to make any changes.

“I’m trying my best [to persuade the board to increase the budget] but at the end of the day it’s their money. John Ryan, Terry Bramall and Dick Watson are the ones putting their hands in their pockets,” said the Rovers boss. “At the moment, if we got four or five injuries we’d have to call a game off. We could really do with another defender and a striker and if we do lose Coppinger [the subject of interest from Barnsley] we’d also have to replace him with another wide player.”

Doncaster are aiming to win their first three league games for the first time since 1994 against Crawley on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Crawley are at full strength for the trip to Keepmoat.

Boss Richie Barker has no new injury worries and has named the same starting line-up for all three matches his side have played so far.

But he may tinker with his starting XI at the Keepmoat after one or two players tired towards the end of the 3-0 defeat at Swindon in midweek.

Southampton loanee Jonathan Forte, who scored on his debut in the 3-0 win over Scunthorpe last weekend, is pushing to make his first start for the club, as is fellow striker Nicky Ajose.

Argentinian winger Sergio Torres is also hoping to start his first game of the season having come off the bench twice.
