Caretaker manager Terry Skiverton is expected to make changes for the visit of Oldham after the defeat to Walsall.

Nathan Smith missed out with a gashed eyelid, but is expected to be fit to return, while Fulham loanee Stephen Arthurworrey is also pushing for a recall after he was rested.

Liam Davis made a first start since November on Tuesday, but two games in a week may prove to be too much for the winger who experienced tightness in the groin towards the end of the game.

Skiverton, who also revealed that captain Joe Edwards was nearing a return, has admitted that time is running out for the Glovers if they want to stay in League One.

Former Yeovil defender Adam Lockwood could again start for Oldham.

Latics’ club captain surprisingly played the full 90 minutes on Tuesday night in just his second appearance of the season following a long-term foot problem.

Stand-in boss Dean Holden welcomed Carl Winchester (hamstring) and Jonathan Forte (calf) back into his XI in midweek and Conor Wilkinson (hamstring) could also be slotted into the line-up having made a 15-minute cameo at Port Vale.

Holden remains without defensive pair Joseph Mills and George Elokobi (both hamstring), though, as well as forward Amari Morgan-Smith (hamstring).

Yeovil manager Gary Johnson has his loanees on his mind with one suspended, one having returned to his parent club and another set to feature for the last time before heading back.

The Glovers will have to undergo a defensive reshuffle against Paul Dickov’s men with Fulham defender Dan Burn missing after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Walsall.

Another regular who will not be featuring is midfielder Korey Smith who is set to hold talks with Norwich about his future this week after returning to Carrow Road having made 18 appearances in his three-month stay.

And versatile full-back Joe Edwards, who has been with the club since September from Bristol City, will play the final game of his loan spell against the Latics.

Edwards, who has made 16 appearances and scored one goal, has impressed at right-back, right wing and in the midfield.

Oldham goalkeeper Alex Cisak remains a major doubt.

Cisak had to leave the field in the closing stages of last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Swindon at Boundary Park having suffered a gash to the forehead that left him with concussion and requiring seven stitches.

The 23-year-old returned to light training on Thursday and will be assessed ahead of the trip to Huish Park, but the burden on boss Paul Dickov is eased as fellow keeper Dean Bouzanis is available once more having served a three-match ban.

Cliff Byrne was substituted after 16 minutes against the Robins due to a back injury but has returned to full training and expects to feature at the weekend.

Matt Derbyshire has returned to Nottingham Forest at the conclusion of his loan spell, meaning Robbie Simpson and Matt Smith are battling to partner Jose Baxter in attack.

Max Ehmer will strengthen Yeovil’s backline on his return.

The German defender is on loan from Premier League newcomers QPR.

He missed the Glovers’ Carling Cup exit at the hands of Exeter after he picked up an ankle injury in the 2-0 opening-day defeat to Brentford.

Ehmer’s return means Yeovil boss Terry Skiverton will have a fully-fit squad to select from.

New signings Kerrea Gilbert and Abdulai Bell-Baggie will be available after both signed short-term deals on Tuesday. Gilbert was among the substitutes in the defeat to the Grecians.

Yeovil are yet to score this season but will take heart from the fact that Oldham are also winless in their two fixtures.

Oldham boss Paul Dickov is boosted by the return of Matt Lund.

The midfielder played for Northern Ireland Under-21s against Faroe Islands in midweek, forcing him to miss the Carling Cup defeat to Carlisle.

The Latics will take an 18-man squad which includes central defender Zander Diamond, who picked up a knock in midweek but hopes to be passed fit.

Dickov’s men are bidding to record their first win of the season after beginning the campaign with a 2-0 home defeat to Sheffield United last weekend.

The Latics boss is aiming to sign a new striker, saying: “It has to be the right one.”

Yeovil boss Terry Skiverton has no new injury or suspension worries.

Skiverton could name an unchanged side after the four changes he made from last weekend’s 3-1 defeat to Hartlepool seemed to work in midweek as the Glovers secured a vital 2-1 win over Notts County.

On-loan Norwich striker Oli Johnson, midfielder Paul Wotton, winger Andrew Welsh and the versatile Luke Ayling were the men to come into the side and should all retain their places.

Veteran striker Martin Gritton looks set to be named among the substitutes again and will hoping for an opportunity to impress.

It may be some time before Gritton makes his first start since returning to the club due to the form of Skiverton’s current favoured strike-pairing of on-loan Tottenham youngster Jonathan Obika and Dean Bowditch, who have netted seven goals between them in six games.

Oldham boss Paul Dickov could be without a trio of players.

Filipe Morais limped off in the first half at Notts County after receiving a painful blow to his hip.

And Blackburn loanee Jason Lowe twisted his ankle in the same game but managed to complete the 90 minutes, yet neither player recovered in time for last weekend’s goalless draw against Charlton.

Skipper Reuben Hazell sustained a knee injury against the Addicks and is waiting on the results of a scan which could yet rule him out of action.

Rookie striker Kirk Millar was sent off while playing for the reserves and will now miss three first-team matches.

Reserve-team suspensions kick in 14 days after a dismissal, leaving Millar available to face the Glovers.
