Shrewsbury v Port Vale preview

Team news ahead of Tuesday's League Two clash between Shrewsbury and Port Vale at the Greenhous Meadow.

Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner must decide whether to stick with a winning line-up or freshen up his ranks.

On the back of Easter victories over both Macclesfield and Bradford, Turner named an unchanged XI for the third successive match at the weekend and watched his side come from a goal down to see off rejuvenated Rotherham 3-1.

With no new injury or suspension problems expected, Turner will be tempted to send out the same team against Vale and call upon the likes of Marvin Morgan, Jon Taylor and Sean McAllister from the bench if required.

Last month's initial meeting between Town and their Staffordshire neighbours was abandoned after 64 minutes due to a fire in the East Stand generator room at the Greenhouse Meadow.

Town were leading 1-0 at the time thanks to James Collins' strike and Turner will be hoping for a repeat performance from his players having admitted they were playing some of the best football seen during his time at the club before the lights went out.

Port Vale will wait to see if Clayton McDonald is fit enough to play.

McDonald has been nursing a hamstring problem in recent weeks and the defender missed the goalless draw at Morecambe on Saturday.

Manager Micky Adams has young defender Phil Roe, midfielders Sam Morsy, Chris Shuker and Kingsley James and striker 19 Ben Williamson available should he wish to make any changes to his starting line up.

The original match between the two sides last month was abandoned with Shrewsbury leading 1-0 after a fire was discovered in the main stand at Greenhous Meadow.

Ahead of the re-match, Adams told Vale's official club website: "They have seen us and we have seen them. But because of the player we had missing last time, we have learnt more about them than they would have about us.

"We don't go into the game blind so I would like to think that we can cause them a few problems."
