Colchester United boss Adrian Boothroyd will be without injured winger Ashley Vincent for the League One trip to Leyton Orient on Saturday.

The winger recently returned to training following an ankle injury, but the problem did not fully clear up so he will now undergo surgery which will sideline him for around six weeks.

Paul Reid played half an hour for the reserves this week following his knee operation but will not be rushed back, and fellow defenders Pat Baldwin (leg) and Lee Beevers (shoulder) are still out.

Boothroyd is therefore likely to stick with the side which beat Huddersfield last weekend to move up to fourth.

Striker Jamie Guy has joined Port Vale and Scott Vernon, Alan Maybury, Matt Lockwood, Sam Corcoran and Russell Malton are unlikely to figure having also been made available for loan moves.
