Southampton goalkeeper Kelvin Davis is set to return to the Saints starting line-up for the visit of South-Coast rivals Brighton on Sunday.

The goalkeeper was rested for Wednesday night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over Charlton and will reclaim his place at the expense of understudy Bartosz Bialkowski.

Midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin will be checked over after suffering a knock which forced him off at half-time.

Wayne Thomas celebrated a rare start with his first goal in more than four years and could keep his place either at centre-half or right-back, where he played the second half after Lloyd James moved into midfield.

Graeme Murty (knee) remains the only injury absentee and is due back in training next week, while Kayne McLaggon has joined Eastbourne Borough on loan.

Dean Hammond and Dan Harding will line up against the club where they began their careers.

The match kicks off at 4.30pm.
