Oldham Athletic boss Dave Penney is boosted by the return of midfielder Dean Furman for the trip to Walsall in League One on Tuesday night.

Furman picked up his fifth booking of the season in the recent 1-0 defeat at Gillingham and served a one-match suspension during Saturday's 2-2 draw at home to Colchester.

Striker Pawel Abbott remains sidelined following his hernia operation in Germany and Kelvin Lomax, Rob Purdie and Lewis Alessandra are also still missing.

Penney was delighted with the character his players showed in coming back from two goals down to claim a point at the weekend.

And he is demanding more of the same against the Saddlers, saying: "The character we showed was encouraging and hopefully we can take that into the Walsall game."
