Barnsley skipper Stephen Foster is expected to be passed fit for the visit of Newcastle on Saturday despite sustaining a cut eye in midweek.

The Tykes defender was replaced by Darren Moore at half-time in Wednesday night's 1-1 home draw with Scunthorpe following an accidental collision, but the 29-year-old is keen to play.

Foster's injury required six stitches and if he fails to make it Moore will continue alongside on-loan Stoke defender Ryan Shotton at the heart of defence.

Tykes manager Mark Robins has no new injury or suspension problems, but has several selection dilemmas for the visit of Chris Hughton's league leaders.

Robins revealed he was resting Daniel Bogdanovic when replacing the Malta international with Iain Hume against Scunthorpe, while Jamal Campbell-Ryce, Andy Gray - who has shaken off a groin strain - and Emil Hallfredsson are all pushing for recalls.
