Notts County manager Hans Backe will welcome John Thompson back into the fold for the home clash against Accrington Stanley.

Thompson was suspended for the Magpies' 2-0 victory over Hereford last weekend after picking up five yellow cards.

Midfielder Neal Bishop played the full 90 minutes against the Bulls following his recovery from an ankle injury so should retain his place in the side, but fellow midfielder Johnnie Jackson (knee) remains out.

Duo Lee Hughes and Luke Rodgers look set to continue in attack after scoring 19 goals between them so far.

Backe's side will be seeking their fourth consecutive win against John Coleman's men but could find the going tough against an away side that remain unbeaten in their past five games in all competitions.
