West Brom boss Roberto Di Matteo will be without defender Joe Mattock for the Championship trip to Scunthorpe on Monday.

The left-back was booked for the fifth time this season in the 2-0 win over Peterborough on Boxing Day and must now serve a one-match ban.

Winger Jerome Thomas recovered from flu to face Posh but also overcame a hamstring strain to play a starring role in the victory before coming off after 70 minutes.

The former Arsenal man should be fit to face the Iron at Glanford Park but goalkeeper Scott Carson will be missing again as he serves the final game of his three-match ban.

Robert Koren (hernia) should return in the not too distant future, while striker Ishmael Miller (knee) is back in training with the first team and is targeting a January comeback.

Midfielder James Morrison (heel) is also making good progress but Neil Clement is facing up to the possibility of retirement as he struggles to overcome a long-term knee injury.
