QPR defender Matt Connolly is pushing for a place in the starting line-up for Sunday's trip to Sheffield United in the FA Cup third round.

The centre-back made his return from a hip injury as a late substitute against Bristol City on Boxing Day but did not feature in the 3-0 defeat to Ipswich on Monday. However, he is pushing Damion Stewart and Fitz Hall for a spot at Bramall Lane.

Midfielder Ben Watson has returned to Wigan following the completion of his loan while the Hoops will also be without Tom Williams, who is back at Peterborough following a loan spell.

Angelo Balanta featured for the first time in four months after a groin injury on Monday and is set to be involved again.

Gareth Ainsworth (calf), Lee Cook, Martin Rowlands and Gavin Mahon (all knee) remain on the sidelines.
