Defender Danny Butterfield is set to continue as a makeshift striker when Crystal Palace travel to Scunthorpe in the Championship.

The right-back has been playing up front following Victor Moses' switch to Wigan and responded with a memorable six-minute hat-trick in Tuesday night's FA Cup win over Wolves.

Alan Lee needed running repairs after suffering a head injury against Wanderers but he will be patched up in order to partner Butterfield in attack again.

Fellow striker Stern John is back from his loan spell at Ipswich but was ineligible in midweek, so he could be added to the squad.

Left-back Lee Hills and winger Kieron Cadogan also return after being cup-tied.

Alassane N'Diaye and Johnny Ertl remain doubts with muscle injuries and Paddy McCarthy is a long-term absentee with a shoulder injury.
