Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani is a doubt for Thursday's Europa League last-16 second leg at home to Lille after picking up an illness.

The Italy international, who was man of the match in Monday's 4-1 Premier League win over Portsmouth, missed training on Wednesday and will be assessed on Thursday morning.

Fellow midfielder Maxi Rodriguez drops out of the squad as he is ineligible for European competition but defenders Martin Skrtel (foot) and Fabio Aurelio (thigh) are Rafael Benitez's only other absentees.

Kick-off at Anfield is at 8.05pm.
