Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Crewe and Dagenham and Redbridge at the Alexandra Stadium.

Crewe will be without midfielder Lee Bell as they chase a third consecutive win.

Bell, who has been in impressive form of late, underwent hernia surgery this week and faces up to a month on the sidelines.

Forward duo Ajay Leitch-Smith and Shaun Miller are battling to return to contention having missed last weekend's 1-0 win at Oxford with respective thigh and hamstring strains.

In their absence, Greg Pearson came off the bench to net a late winner on his debut at the Kassam Stadium, but the on-loan Burton striker is expected to remain among the substitutes as he works towards full match fitness.

Defender Carl Martin continues his rehabilitation from tendinitis of the hamstring but is expected to remain out of action this weekend.

Meanwhile, Brian Woodall returns to the fold for Dagenham on Saturday.

The striker sat out Tuesday's 5-0 FA Cup hammering at the hands of Millwall due to illness but has trained since and will be in contention.

Cristian Montano, Exodus Geohaghon and Adam Cunnington also return having all been ineligible for the midweek cup tie at the Den.

Josh Scott is making good progress with his knee injury and may be named on the bench at Gresty Road, as could fellow striker Rob Edmans after he got 45 minutes in midweek as he continues his comeback from a broken leg.

Luke Howell (knee) hopes to return in mid-February but fellow midfielders Kevin Maher (metatarsal) and Peter Gain (knee) face around six weeks on the sidelines, with long-term absentee Sam Williams (knee) ruled out for the rest of the season.
