Team news for Sunday afternoon's FA Cup fourth-round clash between Sunderland and Middlesbrough at the Stadium of Light (kick-off 1.30pm).

Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill will be without striker Nicklas Bendtner.

The Denmark international suffered a broken nose and other facial injuries during last weekend's 2-0 Premier League victory over Swansea and is likely to be missing until the middle of February.

However, fellow frontman Fraizer Campbell is in contention after another appearance for the reserves on his return from a second serious knee injury, while midfielder Jack Colback was expected to resume training today following his recovery from an ankle problem.

Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray's options will be limited by suspension and injury ahead.

Mowbray will have to do without Kevin Thomson and former Black Cats midfielder Julio Arca after they were sent off during the 3-1 Championship defeat at Coventry last weekend.

Keeper Jason Steele remains a doubt with a thigh strain, although Danny Coyne shook off a calf problem to play at the Ricoh Arena with teenager Connor Ripley standing by.

Striker Bart Ogbeche will miss out once again with the hamstring strain which has kept him out of the last two games.

Nicky Bailey is the only name on the long-term casualty list with the midfielder almost four weeks into a recovery period of up to eight weeks after suffering medial ligament damage on New Year's Eve.

Sunderland (from): Mignolet, Westwood, Bardsley, O'Shea, Brown, Bramble, Turner, Cattermole, Richardson, Gardner, Vaughan, Larsson, Elmohamady, McClean, Meyler, Colback, Sessegnon, Wickham, Ji, Campbell.
