Team news for Saturday's League One clash between Rochdale and Bury at Spotland Stadium.

Rochdale have no new injury or suspension worries as John Coleman takes charge of his first game since taking the reins against local rivals Bury.

Midfielder Ashley Grimes opened the scoring when Dale won the reverse fixture at Gigg Lane 4-2 earlier this season and the former Manchester City youngster will be chasing a starting berth having been restricted to a substitute's role in recent weeks.

David Lucas is battling to regain goalkeeping duties from West Ham loanee Peter Kurucz, who has been the man between the sticks since Lucas suffered a head injury and concussion in the December defeat to Sheffield United.

Competition for places is set to be fierce ahead of the derby encounter, with Coleman insisting all of his inherited squad will be granted a fresh start.

"It's a clean slate for everybody - we're only looking forwards, we're not looking backwards," he said. "Some players are going to be disappointed on Saturday because you can't involve any more than 16, so there are going to be at least six who are possibly going to have their noses pushed out."

Midfielder Simon Hackney is due to return to training next week after a lengthy period on the sidelines with an abdominal injury while Kevin Long is expected to be in the squad after joining on loan from Burnley.

Meanwhile, Bury boss Richie Barker has no injury or suspension worries ahead of the derby clash.

Giles Coke is expected to retain his place in the Shakers midfield ahead of Mark Carrington, despite a well-publicised on-field bust-up with captain Steven Schumacher during last weekend's 3-2 victory over Yeovil.

Coke, on loan at Gigg Lane from Sheffield Wednesday, won a first-half penalty, but then became embroiled in a furious row over who would take the spot kick with designated taker Schumacher before the pair were separated by team-mates and issued with yellow cards.

On-loan Southampton forward Ryan Doble is set to retain his starting place at the expense of David Amoo after impressing on his debut against the Glovers, as Bury look to avenge the 4-2 defeat they suffered at home to Rochdale in September.

John Coleman will take charge of his first game as Dale manager after being appointed as Steve Eyre's successor this week.
