Team news ahead of Saturday's Capital One Cup first-round clash between Carlisle and Accrington at Brunton Park.

Carlisle have a number of injury concerns.

Striker Paddy Madden will almost certainly sit out the tie with torn ankle ligaments while young midfielder Jack Lynch is out with a foot problem.

New signing Danny Cadamarteri has had a hamstring injury but may feature. Fellow forward Rory Loy has been seeing a podiatrist because of leg injuries which have affected his movement and is a doubt.

Winger Jon-Paul McGovern had a double hernia problem three weeks ago but appeared in the friendly against Morecambe and may play a part against Stanley.

Italian defender Alessio Bugno could make his competitive debut for the Cumbrians, after joining from Monza, along with former Notts County defender Mike Edwards.

New signing James Gray will be available for Accrington despite having received a call-up to the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad.

Gray has been included in Steve Robinson's squad for a friendly against Hungary but has been allowed to travel after the weekend's game.

The 20-year-old signed a one-year contract at the Crown Ground after impressing during a trial period in pre-season.

Gray will be joined by Karl Sheppard, Tom Eckersley, Luke Clark and Lewis Hatch, who have all joined over the summer.

Michael Liddle is also available following his return to the club. The defender has joined for an undisclosed fee after a successful loan spell last season, where he made 12 appearances.
