Team news ahead of Sunday's Capital One Cup first-round clash between Blackpool and Morecambe.

Kevin Phillips is a major doubt for Blackpool.

The veteran striker is expected to miss the game with a hamstring problem which leaves manager Ian Holloway short of attacking options.

Lomana Lua-Lua, Roman Bednar and Brett Ormerod have all left the club since May's play-off final defeat, leaving Holloway with only three fit strikers to choose from.

New signings Jake Caprice, Isaiah Osborne and Tiago Gomes will all be hoping to make their competitive debuts for the club, adding competition for places in the midfield.

Scott Robertson became Holloway's fourth transfer of the summer after leaving Dundee to sign a two-year deal at Bloomfield Road.

Robertson is expected to fill the void left by Keith Southern, who joined Huddersfield over the summer.

Richard Brodie is set to make his Morecambe debut.

Brodie has agreed a six-month loan deal at the Globe Arena and will challenge Danny Carlton, Kevin Ellison, Jordan Burrow and Jack Redshaw for a place among boss Jim Bentley's forward positions.

Fellow summer signings Lance Cronin, Peter Winn, Robbie Threlfall and Andrew Wright will all be hoping to start, with Bentley having a fully-fit squad to choose from.

The game will be the first competitive fixture between the Shrimps and their Lancashire neighbours.

Bentley's men overcame Championship opposition in the form of Barnsley last season and his side will be hopeful of a repeat.
