Crewe v Yeovil preview

Crewe boss Steve Davis is set to welcome Max Clayton back into his starting line-up.

Clayton headed into Tuesday night’s 2-1 win over Swindon nursing a groin problem and was rested as a precaution by Davis.

Abdul Osman will miss out with an ankle injury, while fellow midfielder Andy Bond (groin) remains on the sidelines to clear the way for Ollie Turton to start.

Michael West finally made his full debut for Alex against the Robins following a lengthy absence due to an Achilles injury and will hope to keep his place in Davis’ XI.

Striker Ajay Leitch-Smith (ankle) is still out of action, along with teenage winger Ryan Colclough (broken jaw).

Yeovil boss Gary Johnson is backing his walking wounded to go through the pain barrier once again.

Ed Upson, Korey Smith and Keanu Marsh-Brown as well as James Hayter and captain Jamie McAllister all came through last-minute fitness tests and started in the Glovers’ 3-1 victory at Shrewsbury in midweek, and manager Johnson is confident they will repeat the feat.

Young defender Nathan Ralph underwent minor knee surgery to remove a cyst on Monday while Aston Villa loanee Daniel Johnson, signed on Tuesday afternoon on a month-long deal, was introduced as a second-half substitute.

The Glovers, who have won four of their last five league games, named Luke Ayling on the bench after the defender missed their last three matches.
