York winger Sander Puri could return to the starting line-up against AFC Wimbledon.

The Estonia international has been restricted to two appearances since joining the Minstermen in the summer due to a hamstring injury, but is expected to feature on Saturday before heading off on international duty.

Recent loan signing Ryan Brobbel has been called into the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad and is unavailable and fellow striker Ryan Bowman sits out the second game of his three-match ban.

Wes Fletcher (ankle) and Richard Cresswell (eye) both remain sidelined, so Michael Coulson is hoping for a recall alongside four-goal leading scorer Ryan Jarvis.

AFC Wimbledon have more injury worries ahead of the trip to York.

Defender Rhys Weston and wingers Chris Arthur and Kevin Sainte-Luce all came off during the midweek 5-3 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy defeat at Brentford feeling slight hamstring problems.

Centre-half Will Antwi is also set to miss out again, having recently resumed full training following a hernia operation only to suffer a setback which will require a scan.

Alan Bennett’s hamstring injury will be assessed while Andy Frampton, Barry Fuller and Luke Moore should return to the starting line-up after they were rested in midweek.

York skipper Chris Smith faces a late fitness test ahead of the weekend tie.

Central defender Smith has a badly-bruised and cut shin following the studs-up tackle in midweek by Louis Moult, who was subsequently sent off in the home draw with Northampton.

Smith has featured in every game so far this season for the Minstermen and could still play, but Chris Doig and David McGurk provide manager Gary Mills with alternative cover.

Latest loan signing Alex Rodman could make his debut for the club after joining on loan this week from Aldershot.

Mills now has six strikers at his disposal, with Jason Walker, Ashley Chambers, Matty Blair, Jamie Reed, Oli Johnson and Rodman all vying for three places up front.

Mills has no new injury or suspension problems, but midfielder John McReady is not ready to return following his dislocated shoulder and forward Michael Coulson is out for the rest of the season due to knee ligament damage.

AFC Wimbledon can welcome back Charlie Strutton for the trip to York.

Striker Strutton missed Tuesday night’s 2-0 defeat at Exeter after coming down with a virus on the morning of the match.

Defenders Mat Mitchel-King (back) and Callum McNaughton (knee) did not travel to Devon despite having recovered from their recent lay-offs, meaning boss Neal Ardley could only name six substitutes.

They could return to the squad but fellow centre-half Pim Balkestein (groin) is still out along with midfielder Sammy Moore and forward Jason Prior (both leg).

Loan signings Jonathan Meades and Jake Reeves will play as they will be ineligible for the FA Cup replay with the Minstermen on Monday.

The Dons drew 1-1 at York in their first-round clash last weekend.

York will be without Michael Coulson.

The striker has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after scans revealed he has damaged his anterior cruciate ligament.

The 24-year-old suffered the injury in the 1-0 victory over Accrington last month and Matty Blair will fill in for the former Grimsby man in an attacking triumvirate alongside Jason Walker and Ashley Chambers.

Newcastle Academy graduate Paddy McLaughlin will continue to occupy Blair’s midfield position following his start at Southend last week, while Danny Kearns, who extended his loan deal with the Minstermen on Thursday, should also retain his starting berth.

Lanre Oyebanjo came on as a late sub against the Shrimpers after recovering from a knock and could start at right-back in place of the versatile Danny Parslow.

AFC Wimbledon welcome back defenders Callum McNaughton and Mat Mitchel-King.

McNaughton suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury last season and has been sidelined for six months, but is back in training and could make the substitutes’ bench.

Skipper Mitchel-King has been out since August with a back injury but is also in contention to face the Minstermen.

However, on-loan defender George Francomb has been denied permission to play in the competition by parent club Norwich, while the game comes too soon for injured pair Dale Bennett and Pim Balkestein.

Midfielder Sammy Moore is sidelined for up to four months with a fractured leg and has been offered some scouting work for the club by boss Neil Ardley while he is unable to play.
