Swindon v Sheff Utd preview

Swindon will be without Aden Flint for the visit of former manager Danny Wilson’s Sheffield United, and an additional three games after the Football Association handed the defender a four-match ban.

The centre back, 23, received a straight red card for serious foul play in the FA Cup defeat against Macclesfield. It was his second of the season so he will miss his side’s meeting with the Blades as well as clashes with Walsall, Yeovil and Brentford.

Centre back Troy Archibald-Henville played in midfield on Saturday and he is expected to drop back to the heart of the Robins’ defence against the Blades while striker Paul Benson is also likely to feature.

Paulo Di Canio, who was very critical of his team’s display as they were knocked out by the Blue Square Premier side, was without captain Alan McCormack on Saturday due to a slight hamstring injury and he remains a big doubt.

Sheffield United defender Matt Hill is manager Danny Wilson’s only injury doubt.

Hill sustained a dead-leg in the FA Cup win at Bristol Rovers at the weekend and although he is travelling with the squad, the full-back could miss out.

Otherwise, Wilson is expected to choose from an unchanged squad after making just one change to his starting line-up on Saturday.

Shaun Miller was recalled to the starting line-up in place of defender Marcus Williams as Wilson opted for three strikers in a 4-3-3 formation, with Chris Porter and Nick Blackman alongside him.

Another forward, Dave Kitson, is expected to sit out his third successive match due to a hamstring strain, while defender Lescinel Jean-Francois (knee) is a long-term absentee.

Mark Howard (thigh) is still out with a thigh problem, so teenager George Long continues in goal as the Blades look to extend their unbeaten league run to 16 matches.
