MK Dons v Leyton Orient preview

MK Dons are likely to have an unchanged squad as they look to keep their automatic promotion hopes alive against struggling Leyton Orient.

Manager Karl Robinson, as he has done all season, will probably rotate his attacking players so Danny Green and Devante Cole will come into the reckoning for recalls to the starting line-up.

Injury and suspension meant Samir Carruthers, Ben Reeves and Dean Bowditch missed out at Fleetwood in midweek and all three players are unavailable once more.

However, fellow midfielder Carl Baker may return to contention after a calf complaint.

Dean Cox remains an injury doubt for relegation-threatened Orient.

The winger will be assessed after missing Tuesday night’s 1-0 defeat by Doncaster due to a groin problem.

Veteran striker Kevin Lisbie is back after a loan spell with League Two Stevenage but he has been carrying an ankle injury, while goalkeeper Adam Legzdins (shoulder) and midfielder Romain Vincelot (knee) are still out.

Lloyd James, who recently recovered from a broken leg, could return in midfield after dropping to the bench for the last two matches.

Dons manager Karl Robinson will give late fitness tests to Daniel Powell and Luke Chadwick

Chadwick, who limped off in the dying minutes of Friday night’s FA Cup tie against Cambridge City, did not train on Monday and will be assessed along with Powell.

The Dons, who are chasing back-to-back league wins, will be boosted by the return of strikers Dean Bowditch and Charlie MacDonald.

Bowditch is expected to feature after he resumed training following a knock that has kept him out of the previous four games, while MacDonald is also back having recovered from an illness that saw him miss the trip to Cambridgeshire last week.

Loanee Angelo Balanta is also available for selection.

Leyton boss Russell Slade could welcome back Scott Cuthbert and Kevin Lisbie

Defender Cuthbert and striker Lisbie both made their return to training after making full recoveries from hamstring injuries.

Cuthbert had been on the treatment table since August 18 while Lisbie has not appeared for Orient since October 6.

Meanwhile Slade has a selection dilemma in goal. First choice goalkeeper Jamie Jones is vying for a place in the starting line-up after recovering from a shoulder problem but youngster Ryan Allsopp will be hoping to keep his place between the sticks.

The O’s go into this clash off the back of three defeats that have seen them fall to 19th in League One.

Leading scorer Dean Bowditch could return to the MK Dons squad.

Bowditch, who has scored 13 goals in all competitions this season, was rested as the Dons drew 1-1 with Chesterfield on Saturday.

New signing Robert Hall made his debut as a second-half substitute at the B2net Stadium following his arrival on loan from West Ham 24 hours earlier. The forward is set to make his home bow on Tuesday night, probably from the bench again.

Gary MacKenzie could miss a fourth match due to his neck problem but fellow defender Adam Chicksen and midfielders Paul Slane and Daniel Powell are options for manager Karl Robinson should he wish to make any changes to his starting line-up.

Soloman Taiwo returns to the Leyton Orient squad for the trip.

The on-loan Cardiff midfielder has completed a three-match ban after he was sent off against Walsall earlier this month.

Orient’s injury problems are also clearing up after defender Scott Cuthbert (knee), winger Dean Cox (ankle) and striker Kevin Lisbie (hip) returned to action in the 2-0 win over Brentford on Saturday.

Dean Leacock hopes to shake off the knock which kept him out at the weekend and fellow defender Ryan Dickson is also close to recovering from a thigh problem.

Leeds loanee Paul Rachubka continues in goal as Lee Butcher (knee), Jamie Jones (wrist) and Marek Stech (ankle) are still on the sidelines.
