Wigan Athletic are without Ryo Miyaichi for the visit of Newcastle United today (kick-off 4pm) after the on-loan Arsenal winger damaged ankle ligaments against Everton last weekend.

The Japan international was stretchered off midway through the second half and will require surgery.

Callum McManaman was another casualty of the Everton win after being forced off with an ankle injury and is a doubt to face Newcastle.

Albert Crusa (knee) and Ivan Ramis (knee) are both long-term absentees.

Newacastle are likely to be without Hatem Ben Arfa as the French winger continues to fight back to full fitness following a hamstring problem.

Tim Krul is still out with a hamstring injury, so Rob Elliot will continue in goal.

Fabricio Coloccini is also missing with a back complaint, so Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa will keep his place in defence.
