Bristol Rovers v Torquay preview

Winger Fabian Broghammer is set to be included in his first matchday squad of the season when Bristol Rovers take on Torquay.

The German suffered a serious knee injury in a pre-season friendly with Hereford in July and has not featured since, but having returned to action in a reserve game in midweek he is finally available again.

Danny Woodards and Chris Beardsley are both back in training after missing the early part of the week but manager Darrell Clarke says he will not risk the pair from the start unless they are 100 per cent fit.

Rovers are just four points clear of the relegation zone ahead of the clash with the rock-bottom Gulls.

Torquay defender Baily Cargill could make his debut for the Gulls at Bristol Rovers.

The 18-year-old Bournemouth loanee has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since arriving before the loan window shut but he is poised to be named in the squad having returned to Plainmoor from his parent club where he headed for treatment.

But fellow Cherries loanee Jayden Stockley will miss out after the striker saw red in the dying minutes of their loss to Scunthorpe last weekend and he will now serve the first of his three-game ban against the Pirates.

Manager Chris Hargreaves can, however, welcome back Shamir Goodwin after he completed his own three-match suspension.
