Peterborough interim manager Dave Robertson could throw three new arrivals straight in against Coventry.

Forward Luke Williams and defenders James Pearson and Alan Sheehan will spend the rest of the season at London Road after joining on loan deadline day, and are all in line for their debuts this weekend.

Robertson will make at least one change to his starting line-up with Ricardo Santos serving a one-game suspension for his red card against Chesterfield, while Kyle Vassell is unavailable after his loan move to Oxford.

Marcus Maddison comes back into the reckoning after serving a ban of his own and will look to help Posh increase their one-point advantage over seventh-placed Barnsley.

Marcus Tudgay could return for Coventry after missing their defeat to Doncaster last week with a hamstring injury.

James Maddison could also make his comeback to the Sky Blues’ squad after he returned to full training this week following three months out with a back problem.

Reda Johnson is expected to remain sidelined with a muscle tear keeping the defender out of Coventry’s battle against the drop.

Boss Tony Mowbray admitted he did not want to gamble on any late loan signings so will now make do with what he has at the Ricoh Arena.

Lloyd Isgrove and Joe Newell come back into the reckoning for Peterborough ahead of Coventry’s visit to London Road.

Both players missed the midweek win over Gillingham. On-loan Southampton winger Isgrove was nursing a slight knock while midfielder Newell completed his suspension for the red card he received during Posh’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy triumph at Wembley at the end of last month.

Manager Darren Ferguson has no new injury problems as his side look to consolidate their place in the play-off positions.

Should he wish to make changes, the likes of Craig Alcock, Shaun Brisley, Michael Bostwick, Kyle Vassell and Josh McQuoid are also available for recalls.

Coventry manager Steven Pressley could shuffle his pack for the clash with Peterborough.

The Sky Blues went down 2-1 at home to MK Dons last weekend despite the return of Callum Wilson, Dan Seaborne and Jordan Clarke.

Pressley was pleased with his side’s second-half performance as he took a positive from the defeat, which gives hope to Dylan McGeouch, Nathan Delfouneso and Anton Robinson.

Coventry head into the weekend’s action sat only six points above the relegation zone, although there are seven sides between Pressley’s men and the bottom four.
