Coventry v Peterborough preview

Callum Wilson is expected to be fit for Coventry’s Boxing Day clash against high-flying Peterborough at Sixfields.

The 14-goal striker was rested for Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Swindon due to a slight groin problem but should be okay to face Posh as City aim to get back to winning ways.

However, winger Chris Maguire will not be available for the Sky Blues having been recalled from his loan stay on Monday by parent club Sheffield Wednesday.

Defender Jordan Willis continues to miss out as he steps up his rehabilitation from a knee injury.

Peterborough have no new problems ahead of the trip to Sixfields to play Coventry.

Gaby Zakuani should be available again after an absence with an Achilles problem but fellow defender Craig Alcock (calf) is likely to remain out while midfielder Danny Kearns (hip) and skipper Tommy Rowe (knee) will continue to miss out through injury.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson must decide whether to make changes or name the same team that started the 2-1 home win over Bradford on Saturday.

The likes of Danny Swanson, Jack Payne, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Nathaniel Knight-Percival, Hogan Ephraim and Tyrone Barnett – all on the bench against the Bantams – are options for Ferguson should he wish to freshen up his side.
