Walsall v MK Dons previews

Adam Chambers is rated 50-50 for Walsall’s clash with MK Dons as he tries to recover from an ankle injury.

Sam Mantom is on standby to deputise after finally overcoming a knee injury which has restricted him to just four appearances this season.

The midfielder played an hour in the reserves’ 2-0 defeat to Morecambe on Tuesday and was on the bench for Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Barnsley.

Jordan Cook and Anthony Forde could return from their groin injuries after training this week but Rico Henry (dislocated shoulder) is out.

Captain Dean Lewington and goalkeeper David Martin are both expected to return to the Dons’ starting line-up.

Left-back Lewington missed the home defeat to Preston through suspension after his red card against Chesterfield while Martin has sat out the last six matches with a thigh strain.

Martin has trained all week and will take over from Ian McLoughlin between the posts as the Milton Keynes club look to get their automatic promotion challenge back on track after three straight losses.

Teenage midfielder Dele Alli is also nearing a return from the ankle injury he suffered a month ago and he could be back in training on Monday.
