Doncaster v Peterboro preview

James Coppinger is unlikely to be involved when Doncaster host fellow play-off hopefuls Peterborough at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Coppinger is struggling to be fit in time after coming off injured against Gillingham last weekend and Tuesday’s visit of Swindon is a more realistic target for a return to full fitness.

He joins fellow midfielder Paul Keegan (knee) on the sidelines while on-loan striker Uche Ikpeazu this week returned to parent club Watford.

Jonson Clarke-Harris has been borrowed from Rotherham to replace Ikpeazu and the striker could make his Rovers debut against his former club.

Marcus Maddison is suspended for Peterborough following his red card in the win against Leyton Orient. Maddison, who only returned from injury last Saturday, is unavailable for the next three matches while he serves a ban.

The playmaker came on at half-time as a replacement for Joe Newell but caretaker boss Dave Robertson has no concerns over the fitness of the midfielder and Newell will be involved again in South Yorkshire.

Shaun Brisley has recovered from a hip problem but fellow defender Jack Baldwin (knee) and midfielder Jermaine Anderson (toe) remain long-term absentees for Posh.

Doncaster go into the game in sixth place and in the final play-off spot but Peterborough are level on points with Rovers in eighth position.
