Goalkeeper Mark Cousins could return for Dagenham against Plymouth after a head injury.

The keeper suffered a bad cut following a collision with a post in the 2-0 win over Hartlepool at the start of the month and has missed the last two games.

First-team coach Darren Currie told the club’s official site: “He wasn’t quite ready for Saturday. He’ll be assessed again and all being well he’ll be back around the squad for tomorrow night.”

Abu Ogogo is in contention after returning from a leg injury as a second half substitute in Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Southend but Zavon Hines (knee) is out.

Plymouth will hand Reuben Reid another start when they make the trip.

The Pilgrims’ top scorer has not trained for two weeks as he manages a foot injury but the striker continues to line-up for Argyle and managed to play 80 minutes against Oxford on Saturday before being withdrawn.

And he looks set to continue alongside Lewis Alessandra with Ryan Brunt having to bide his time on John Sheridan’s bench once more.

With the games coming thick and fast Sheridan could be tempted to shuffle his pack with Olly Lee and Jason Banton itching to be given the nod.

Jack Connors serves a one-match suspension as Dagenham host Plymouth.

The defender saw red in last last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Burton and now misses out against the Pilgrims as Wayne Burnett’s side look to secure what would only be a second win in eight attempts.

Femi Ilesanmi is expected to step in having shrugged off an ankle injury, although midfielder Luke Howell (ankle) is not quite ready.

Dagenham will hold a minute’s applause before kick-off and wear black armbands in honour of long-serving kit man Bill Edmans, who passed away last weekend at the age of 87.

Plymouth will be missing Neal Trotman when they visit Dagenham.

The former Chesterfield defender saw red in last weekend’s 4-0 home loss to York and will now serve a one-match ban.

But manager John Sheridan has a number of options for the trip with full-backs Durrell Berry and Matt Parsons as well as striker Marvin Morgan all fully fit after injury.

Berry and Morgan were on the bench last Saturday along with the likes of Tyler Harvey, Nathan Thomas and Andres Gurrieri, who are also pushing for inclusion this time around.

Dagenham will name an unchanged team as they prepare to face the Pilgrims.

Manager John Still was impressed with his team’s performance at Cheltenham, despite losing 2-0 at Whaddon Road, and with no new injury concerns or suspensions, will keep faith with his starting XI.

Midfielders Kevin Maher and Matthew Saunders remain sidelined with their injuries.

Maher has undergone minor surgery on his foot injury which will keep him out of the team for a further two weeks.

Saunders will also be missing for another fortnight with his ankle injury.

Defender Michael Spillane had been a doubt for the clash with the Robins, but he came through the game unscathed and will start for the Daggers against Carl Fletcher’s side.

Meanwhile, Plymouth boss Carl Fletcher could reshuffle his defence ahead of their trip to Dagenham.

Fletcher slammed his side’s defensive show after they slumped to a 2-0 defeat against Aldershot on the opening day.

Full-back Onismor Bhasera conceded a needless free-kick while skipper Darren Purse was punished for a woeful pass back and both player’s positions are under pressure.

Utility-man Robbie Williams may come in at left-back in place of Bhasera but further changes could be made.

Summer signing Rhys Griffiths will continue to play no part having suffered a calf injury ahead of last week’s Capital One Cup victory over Portsmouth and faces at least a fortnight on the sidelines.

Midfielder Jamie Lowry will miss out as he is expected to be sidelined until late October with an ankle ligament injury.
