Carlisle v Morecambe preview

Carlisle defender Troy Archibald-Henville is expected to return to contention for the home game against Morecambe.

Archibald-Henville was rested for the midweek win at Northampton as both he and the club continue to manage his ongoing knee problem. Boss Keith Curle must decide whether to recall him or retain Patrick Brough.

Fellow defender Courtney Meppen-Walter has had a scan to determine the full extent of his abdominal injury and is not expected to feature again, while midfielder Antony Sweeney is hoping to overcome a dead leg.

Both recent loan signings, midfielders Jason Kennedy and Paul Corry, are expected to make their home debuts for the Cumbrians after impressing in their first two games on the road.

Morecambe will hand Danny Ward a debut in goal as Andreas Arestidou is suspended.

The Shrimps stopper received a red card in the loss to Shrewsbury in midweek and will serve a one-match ban, leaving manager Jim Bentley to bring in the Liverpool goalkeeper on a one-month loan deal.

Barry Roche (shoulder) has been missing for most of the season, so teenager Tom Stewart will be in the squad but Bentley would rather not start an 18-year-old who had never played in the Football League before Tuesday night.

Midfielder Jamie Devitt (groin) was an unused substitute against the Shrews while full-back Shaun Beeley (knee) failed to complete 90 minutes, yet Bentley is confident they can play more of a role at the weekend.
