Adam El-Abd is the only major injury concern for Bury manager David Flitcroft ahead of the Morecambe game.

The defender was stretchered off late on in Friday’s 2-0 win over Cambridge with a serious-looking injury, although Flitcroft admitted he did not know the full extent of the problem.

Jim McNulty may be rushed back from a hip problem, but on-loan Bolton defender Rob Holding is the more likely to return in place of El-Abd after making his debut from the bench.

Joe Riley serves the second game of his suspension, while Danny Rose is still not match fit which leaves Daniel Nardiello to challenge Tom Eaves for an attacking spot.

Morecambe only have one fresh injury worry following the draw with Accrington.

Defender Mark Hughes was forced off in the first half and is a major doubt to return to the starting line-up, which means Alan Goodall could come into the side after appearing from the bench.

Liverpool loanee Danny Ward looks to have beaten off competition from Andreas Arestidou to be manager Jim Bentley’s first-choice goalkeeper after being given a second start in a row.

Barry Roche (hip) and Ryan Williams both missed out on Good Friday and are unlikely to recover in time.

Bury boss Alan Knill will be without midfielder Damien Mozika in the home clash with Morecambe.

Mozika is suspended for two games after collecting his 10th yellow card of the season during Saturday’s 3-0 win at Hereford, with Peter Sweeney set to take his place in the side.

Defender Ben Futcher remains sidelined through hamstring problems but the second-placed Shakers have no other injury or suspension concerns as they bid to maintain their push for automatic promotion.

Ryan Lowe prolonged his club-record run and scored for a ninth successive match at the weekend and Knill has backed him to continue firing.

He said: “To score in nine successive games is fantastic but every time he is in front of goal he looks like he’s going to score.”

Morecambe manager Sammy McIlroy is hoping to hand goalkeeper Joe Anyon a debut against Bury.

Regular first-choice stopper Barry Roche sustained a thigh injury in the first half of the Shrimps’ victory over Southend on Saturday and is unlikely to be risked at Gigg Lane.

That means Anyon could line up between the posts should his proposed move from League Two rivals Lincoln go through in time.

Defender Paul Scott is stepping up his fitness but is set to remain absent as he recovers from a knee operation.

Saturday’s victory maintained the Shrimps’ push away from relegation danger, but McIlroy warned: “It’s too early to say we have turned the corner because we have some difficult games coming up.”
