Morecambe saw off Lancashire neighbours Preston 2-0 in a feisty pre-season encounter at the Globe Arena on Saturday.
Both sides had chances in a goalless first half, while North End midfielder John Mousinho and Shrimps winger Kevin Ellison almost came to blows following a meaty tackle.
Jordan Burrow expertly nodded home Lewis Alessandra's right-wing cross to give the hosts a 49th-minute lead and Danny Carlton turned in Dan Parkinson's centre to seal the win four minutes from time.
