Carl Baker's stoppage-time penalty was enough to give Morecambe all three points in a dramatic end to their 1-0 victory at Chester.

The game was heading towards a goalless draw until the second minute of stoppage time when Paul Linwood crudely wrestled Matthew Blinkhorn to the ground as the Morecambe striker prepared to pull the trigger.

Premier League official Phil Dowd had little choice but to point to the spot and dismiss Linwood. Baker then calmly stepped up to despatch the penalty past goalkeeper John Danby.

Earlier, Morecambe substitute Michael Twiss volleyed over from six yards when it looked easier to score. Chester had a good claim for a penalty late on when David Artell appeared to nudge Kevin Ellison as he homed in on goal but referee Dowd waved away the appeal.
