Championship strugglers Leicester dumped former manager Martin O'Neill's Aston Villa out of the Carling Cup after a 1-0 victory at Villa Park.
O'Neill was on the receiving end of the kind of cup shock he handed out to more illustrious opponents during his five years with the Foxes when he twice won the competition.
Former Walsall striker Matty Fryatt settled the issue with a shot from a narrow angle with 14 minutes remaining of the third-round clash.
After a bright start from the home side, it was Leicester who took control, with Patrick Kisnorbo heading wide.
At the other end, Gabriel Agbonlahor saw a fierce effort blocked, while Martin Fulop had to produce an excellent stop to deny Shaun Maloney.
But the home fans were stunned with 14 minutes remaining when James Chambers played in Fryatt who made no mistake.
