Middlesbrough slipped into the Premier League drop zone despite Tuncay's first goal for the club earning them a 1-1 draw at Reading.

Dave Kitson put the Royals in front early in the second half but Tuncay's first goal in fourteen games earned a much-needed point for Gareth Southgate's men.

The first half was a dour affair, with few chances and little quality. Kitson was denied twice by Ross Turnbull whilst Adam Johnson hit the post for Boro.

Kitson opened the scoring in the 54th minute. Marcus Hahnemann's long clearance was flicked on by Kevin Doyle into the path of Kitson who lobbed into the Boro net.

Boro were level in the 83rd minute. Luke Young delivered a wonderful cross which was headed home by Tuncay.

Hahnemann denied Tuncay a second goal late on but despite the point, Boro have now yet to win in 11 games.
