Two goals from David Clarkson helped Motherwell to a comfortable 3-0 home victory over Fir Park tenants Gretna in the SPL on Saturday.
The visiting side immediately tried to make themselves at home at their adopted ground with Fabian Yantorno forcing Well goalkeeper Graeme Smith into the first save of the match.
The home side took control from there, though, and Ross McCormack forced Greg Fleming to save two free-kicks from just outside the area.
Chris Porter hit the post with a header and Stephen Craigan had an effort cleared off the line before Clarkson slotted home two minutes before the break.
Porter extended the hosts' lead with a fine finish in the 61st minute and Clarkson superbly rifled an effort in off the post 13 minutes later to grab his second and put the result beyond doubt.
